Fellowship Bible Church Arapaho provides opportunities for women to grow in their relationships with God and each other. We want women to have an encouraging, safe environment where they can use their gifts to minister to other women, the church, the community, and the world. Our goal is for each woman to feel connected and become a vital part of a body that accepts and loves her as she is.
Women’s Ministry provides many opportunities for women to walk together in their faith. Some specific Women’s Ministry opportunities include:
Each spring we pack up our cars and leave for a two-night weekend getaway where relationships are key and make-up is optional. This highly anticipated event is a great opportunity to strip away the cares of the world and focus on God and other women in a beautiful setting. Activities are well planned (but not over-planned), and guest speakers challenge us to grow and stretch while still feeling safe and loved.
Throughout the year various Bible studies are offered at FBCA. In order to become a woman after God’s own heart, we have to know and understand His Word. Different topics and books are chosen with the women of our church in mind, to best meet their needs. We meet the 2nd, 4th and 5th Wednesday of each month, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., in the Fellowship Cafe.
An annual tradition at FBCA, the Ladies’ Fall Brunch is usually the second Saturday in November. This special event allows the ladies of the church to dine on fine china, listen to a guest speaker, and enjoy each another before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season begins.
This unique ministry aims to RENEW mothers through fellowship, prayer, and encouragement toward more effective and rewarding mothering. We meet the first and third Wednesday of each month from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Cafe. Topics are chosen by the group and involve book studies, guest speakers, sharing, and more. Snacks await, and laughter abounds. Child care is offered for a nominal fee.
The Care Team is not specifically just for women, but it is sponsored by the Women’s Ministry. The Care Team is a point of contact for church members in need, arranging for meals, transportation, emergency childcare, or whatever needs a family or individual might have in a crisis. For more information on the Care Team or to volunteer, please contact Marian Toscano, 972.851.9956.
Discipleship and one-on-one mentoring is available for women at FBCA who are interested in making a one-year commitment to growing in Christ. Mentors and trainees are paired up after an application and interview process. Mentors for all levels of spiritual maturity and/or stages of life are available to help the women of FBCA grow in their relationship with Jesus as well as with one another.
Mentors meet for development September through April on the second Sunday of each month from 12:30-2:00pm. Mentors and their proteges meet on their own schedule, usually once a week or bi-monthly. A Celebration Tea is held in May.
For more information on being a mentor or filling out an application, contact Lalla Shackelford, 972.852.5555 x41.
