What drives me to do too much? The desire for more. We live in a “super-size me” society. A lot is good. More is even better. Too much is just right! More than any other culture in the world, beyond any other time in history, our America is the land of plenty, abundance and prosperity—even in the midst of economic crisis! Dream big. Work hard. Get more. That’s how we spell “success”. Ever stop to wonder, though, if we got that one right? Is it really true that the winner is “the one with the most toys”? We might find it interesting—and challenging—to consider God’s perspective. What metrics does he use to evaluate how we’re doing? This week we examine two themes from the Bible, written to guide us in living our lives well. Together they answer what really should be our most significant question: How does God spell “success”?
