Helping people find and follow Jesus.

Sabbatical: Will we not have any contact with you at all?

First, I’d love to keep you posted on how I’m doing. So I’ll be blogging here every other week or so.

Also, though most Sundays I’m intentionally staying away, I do plan to worship with you at least a couple times during these three months. I’ll already looking forward to hearing about what God is doing in your life at the iWitness service just before Thanksgiving.

Some of you have also asked about calling me or emailing me during this sabbatical. If something big is happening in your life, of course I’d love to hear about it. And it would be wonderful to hear that you’re praying for me. I’d welcome any messages of encouragement and support. However, here’s my request. The goal of this sabbatical is to temporarily relieve me of my responsibilities. So I’d ask you to help me accomplish that. If you have a crisis, a conflict, a complaint, or a suggestion, please address it to someone else for right now. And, if I don’t respond to your email or call, please understand that it’s not because I don’t care about you or what you’re going through. I’m just trying to maintain this Sabbath discipline. When it’s over, I’ll be glad to dive back into your life and help you in whatever way I can.
