Abraham Lincoln used the biblical phrase, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” He was referring to our looming Civil War, but the words apply to an interesting period of Israel’s history.
Did you ever wonder why a good Jewish man like Daniel wound up living in Babylon? The answer lies in the behavior of the people of Israel during the period where the Nation split in two. Previously we have followed our study of the Life of David, with the study of his son and heir, Solomon. Now we continue our study of the Old Testament, by looking at the period of the divided kingdom. There are lots of bad examples in this period of Israel’s history, but there are also some heroes like Elijah.
Join us in this discussion oriented class as we take our time studying the Bible together. Everyone, no matter what your background, has something to contribute.
This class, led by elder Bill Holston, will meet Sundays at 9:00am in the Fellowship Café.
