Israel is occupied by an oppressive Roman government and the people are looking for a deliverer, someone to bring about the kingdom.  Revolutionaries shout for a revolt.  Others make deals with the Romans, and the religious leaders load the people down with rules.

Onto the scene, God’s anointed brings the message of the Kingdom of God through the one we’ve come to call Jesus Christ.  The Gospel of Matthew contains the clear and life changing teachings of the Messiah.  Join us as we study this remarkable book.

peace of the rock: finding financial security

Too much month at the end of your money? At one time or another, we’ve all faced financial worries: unemployment? unexpected expenses? growing debt? just more bills than paychecks? Those are troubling, burdensome problems and it’s hard to find a sense of security with so many threats and pressures. The recent economic crisis has made it even more difficult for most people. In the middle of all that, God says simply, “Don’t worry about it.” Sounds way too easy, doesn’t it? Kind of dismissive of problems that are way too real and immediate? The stress of finances make us all long for the days when we were just kids and we didn’t have to worry about who was going to put food on the table or how we were going to pay the electric company. Did it ever occur to you—that’s exactly the way it still works? “Don’t worry about it. Dad’s got it covered.”
