Class Descriptions, Locations and Times

 

PreK - Kindergarten

 - located in the Student Center this age group visits the Imagination Station.  PreK & Kinders meet in the worship center with their parents for adult worhsip from 10-10:30am.  Once dismissed, they transition to the Kids’ Center with their teacher for their own age specific program from 10:45am-12:00pm.  Preschoolers also enjoy the back playground for active play during their meeting time.  

Teach less for more - Repeats one key truth (Bottom Line) all month long.

- Engage the five senses - Helps master the concept through creative activities.

- Teach with the end in mind - Helps a child by age five, to believe:

1. God Made Me
2. God Loves Me
3. Jesus Wants to be My Friend Forever

- Experience worship - Encourages children to talk to God any time, any place.

- Connect at home - Provides parents with ideas for conversation with their child at home.

1st - 4th grade

 - located in the Student Center this age group visits both the Creation Station and Faith Station.  This age group meets in the worship center with their parents for adult worship from 10-10:30am.  Once dismissed, they transition to the Kids’ Center with their teacher for their own age specific program. 

10:45-11:00am  Plug In Small Groups are designed to introduce children to the day’s topic in a setting that gives them individualized attention from a leader and plenty of interaction with their peers.

11:00-11:30am  Power Up Large Group (all ages 1st-4th) is designed to engage children in worship in a large group setting. Music, prayer, and an innovative approach to the Bible story are always a part of this interactive time.

11:30-12:00pm  Catch On Small Groups are designed to help kids understand how the day’s topic applies to them. They’ll discuss real-life experiences, interact with a group of peers, and participate in a variety of activities that appeal to different learning styles. Life-application and memory-verse activities, as well as prayer, are always a part of this hands-on time.

 

5th - 6th grade

 - 5th-6th grade is located in the Student Center where this age group hangs out at Club56.  This age group meets in the worship center with their parents for adult worship from 10-10:30am.  Once dismissed, they transition to their age specific class to grapple with God’s truth.

Tackles tough questions preteens are asking.

Captivates their attention by digging into real-life issues they are dealing with the most.

Engages their participation through attention-grabbing lessons, thought-provoking videos, fun games, deep life-changing Bible lessons.

Inspires kids to connect throughout the week.

Encourages faith practice.

Why do our volunteers need to complete an application?

FBCA wants to do our best to provide a safe and nuturing environment for your child.  We ask all our volunteers to complete the attached application and background check.

Kids Meet in New Location

Starting this Sunday, November 6, 2011, kids PreK-4th grade will be meeting in the freshly decorated classrooms in the Student Center building. We will transition at the usual time around 10:30am. The classrooms are located down the left hallway in the student center. Patrick’s PreK-K class will meet in the Imagination Station, the 1st classroom on the right. The 1st-4th graders will be using the Faith Station and the Creation Station classrooms, the 2nd & 3rd classrooms on the right. I’m excited for the kids to see their new classes. See you Sunday!

VBS Registration 2011

God & Me VBS 2011July 25-28, 2011 6:00-8:30pm Monday -Thursday evening. For children entering 4years - 6th grade. Register today!

Day 1 - You can know God! Genesis 7-9 God told Noah to build an Ark to perserve life on earth.

Day 2 - You can follow God! Jonah 1-3 God told Jonah to go to Ninevah. Jonah didn’t exactly want to.

Day 3 - Jesus can help you walk with him! Matthew 14:22-33 Jesus walked on water and told Peter to come to him.

Day 4 - Jesus can fill you and calm you! John 21:1-14 Peter’s nets are miraculously filled when Jesus tells him where to fish.

Drop off and pickup in the Worship Center Lobby. There will be a registration table just inside the lobby. Be sure and check-in and pick up a parent information letter. Thank you so much for letting your child participate.
